Photorefractive Fiber-like Optical Switch by Adjusting the Readout Beam Polarization
|
Abstract:
The model of a photorefractive optical switch with Ce:KNSBN fiber-like crystal which is implemented by adjusting the polarization of the readout beam to control the diffraction efficiency of volume grating is proposed. The experimentally measured diffraction efficiency with extraordinary polarized readout beam is about 310 times that with ordinary polarized readout beam. The diffraction efficiency ratio in fiber-like crystal is about 10 times that in bulk crystal, which indicates that the Ce:KNSBN fiber-like crystal possesses excellent optical switch property.
