3-dimensional Modeling System Based on the Chromatic Dispersion Characteristic of Diffractive Optical Element

Abstract:
For the absolute and shape-free reconstruction of 3-D objects, a convenient 3-dimensional modeling algorithm is proposed and implemented in a novel modeling system, which takes full advantage of the chromatic dispersion characteristic of Diffractive Optical Element (DOE) for infrared wave band pattern projection and detection. Experimental simulation results demonstrate that the complex free-form shape 3-D objects can be reconstructed, and prove this algorithm and reconstruction system are effective and realizable.
