A statistical method for testing the significance of strain components calculated from geodetic data is proposed.By analyzing the spatial distribution of significant strain,the characteristics of tectonic strain can be properly displayed.The proposed method has been used for determining the spatial strain distribution in North China from GPS data.The results show that the significant strains distribute mainly in the boundary of tectonic blocks.On the other hand,distributions of un-significant strains form t...
