The speeding world-wide information revolution is exerting a deep influence on every field of the human society, including the publication of geographic periodicals, the current situation of which in China is far behind demands in such aspects as publishing circle, presentation method, distribution scope, and international exchange. Joint efforts should be input on staff training, funds increasing, norm regulating, WWW-site establishing, and new media making, etc. In such way, future geographic periodicals will have a more independent position on research activities and libraries of geography.
