Oblique Projection-Based Beamforming Algorithm

Abstract:
Sampling Matrix Inversion (SMI) beamforming technique has the worse performance in the small snapshot number, high signal-noise- ratio and coherent source. Diagonal loading technique can improve the beamforming aberration. But loading value is hard to solve. An oblique projection-based beamforming algorithm is proposed in this paper. This algorithm uses oblique projection algorithm for the received signal to eliminate interference and enhance the algorithm robustness. Simulation results reveal that this algorithm has the better beamforming performance than conventional SMI beamforming algorithm and projection algorithm in the lower, middle and high Signal-Noise-Ratio (SNR), and it has the better performance in the small snapshot number and coherent source. So it has robust characteristic and the better performance. The algorithm is no more complex and can be implemented easily, and it can be used widely.
