Ultra Wideband Antenna Design Using U-slot

A new antenna array consisting of U-slot microstrip patches is introduced. The array is fed by a novel wideband matching network and the energy is coupled to the U-slot patches through the feed slot on the ground. The operating frequency range of antenna array is from 10.4 to 16.7GHz, corresponding to an impedance bandwidth of 46.5%. The gain is above 13dBi from 11-15GHz.
