Optimum Design of AWG Router with Flattened Passband and Low Loss
|
Abstract:
By inserting a mode converted between the input waveguide and input slab,a low loss AWG router with the properties of flatened passband, low loss, low ripple and symmetrical frequency response is designed. The mode converter is constitute with the first taper, one thin straight waveguide, the second taper and the tapered waveguide. For the AWG router designed, the 1 dB bandwidth is optimized by optimizing the shape and length of the tapered waveguide, and the insertion loss and ripple of the frequency response are reduced by optimizing the shape of the second taper.Further more, the asymmetry of the frequency response caused by the curved input waveguide is reduced by optimizing the width of the thin straight waveguide.
