Study and Realization of Multistage Depressed Collector CAD Software for Traveling Wave Tubes

In this paper, the theoretical model of multistage depressed collector for traveling wave tubes, including the technology of automatic mesh generation, the effects of secondary electrons, space charges, magnetic fields and the method of computation of collector’s efficiency, is presented in detail. Based on this theory, a two-dimensional software is developed and is used in the design of symmetrical multistage depressed collectors. Finally, the recent development of the theory is summarized and some referable advices are suggested.
