A VERSATILE AND INTELLIGENT ONE-DIMENSIONAL READOUT SYSTEM
|
Abstract:
A versatile and intelligent one-dimensional image readout system distinguished from other systems by a number of characteristics is describeed in this paper. For exam-pit, a common oscilloscope of any kind externally connected to this system is used as its display equipment and a cursor on the scope screen is generated by software so a TV monitor or a built-in scope with its control circuits is saved. The functions of the cursor system could readily match other systems but a minimum in size and cost is a achieved and the display manipulation becomes very straight. In addition, a set of profile handling routines with arithmetic and some high-level operations such as n-point smoothing arc provided and three special constants are introduced into the operations to increase data processing ability. Moreover, a variety of readin modes such as single shot, snap shots, accumulating and averaging by both frames and events, exponential averaging, etc, can be selected. This system is suitable to readout optical streaks, fringes and spcctra. Some application results in these fields are illustrated.
