AN ELECTROCHEMICAL COLORING TECHNIQUE FOR 316 STAINLESS STEEL

Abstract:
A two-step process was employed to color 316 stainless steel,i.e.a pre-electroplating nickel and then electrochemically coloring in a bath containing ammonium molybdate.The effects of concentration of ammonium molybdate and pH value of the bath as well as current density and time of the processing on the properties of coloring film were investigated.Thus the optimal processing parameters were obtained.The conversion film was black and bright with good wear resistance.Morphology,composition and corrosion res...
