PREPARATION AND CORROSION RESISTANCE OF Ce CONVERSION FILMS ON AZ91D MAGNESIUM ALLOY

Abstract:
The optimal process of chemical conversion treatment for AZ91D magnesium alloy in CeCl3-H2O2 system was determined by orthogonal experiments.The microstructure and morphology of the conversion film were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy.The results show that the film formed under the optimal processing conditions is uniform.The corrosion behavior of the specimens with and without conversion film was investigated by methods of collecting hydrogen gas and potentiodynamic polarization in neutral 3.5 wt%...
