A detecting method of external coatings for pipeline by EIS was introduced for oil and gas fields.The EIS change of different coatings was measured in 3%NaCl solution with time,electrochemical impedance spectra and the relevant parameters including the water absorbility of the coatings were analyzed and contrasted,accordingly the validity of the coatings will be accessed.
