TEMPORAL COHERENT LENGTH OF GAUSSIAN MODE-LOCKED LASER-PULSE WITH LINEAR CHIRP

Abstract:
The problem of temporal coherent length of mode-locked laser-pulse is first presented anddiscussed in this paper. From the definition of complex temporal coherent degree,the expression oftemporal coherent length of Gaussian mode-locked laser-pulse with linear chirp is deduced. It is seenthat the temporal coherent length of this kind of pulse is decreased as the chirp is increased. Throughcomparing with the pulse duration, it is concluded that, when the pulse has not chirp, its temporalcoherent length is equal to 2 times of its pulse duration.
