Abstract:

The collimating properties of Gaussian beams by refractive microlens with sphericalprofile are analyzed with Rayleigh Sommerfeld scalar diffraction theory.The numerical results indicate that the microlens successfully collimate Gaussian beams,and that the propagation of Gaussian beams collimated by the refractive microlens with spherical profile is an oscillating process.If diffractive efficiency is not considered,the numerical results show that larger f number microlens has smaller divergence angle.
