APPLICATION OF PHOTOELECTRIC EFFECT OF TiO2 FILMS FOR CORROSION PREVENTION OF METALS

Due to photoelectric effect of TiO_2,in the recent years many efforts have tried to exploit TiO_2 films as anti-corrosion coatings to offer eleahochemical protection to metal substrates.Most of the studies discussed theoretically the anticorrosion features of such coatings.TiO_2 coating acts as a non-sacrificial photo-anode and provides cathodic protection to metal substrates. It's anticorrosion mechanism for metals and the applications of TiO_2 coatings to stainless steel,copper and carbon steel were reviewed here.
