Q-switched Mode-locking Laser Using ABCD Matices in Temporal Domain

Abstract:
The change of the pulse width and the chirp with the saturable absorption and the gain band-width of Q-switched mode-locked lasers by means of the temporal domain ABCD matrices-is discussed. An example of a Nd:YAG Q-switched mode-locked laser was given when using a Cr4+:YAG as a Q-switch element. The influence of the inner cavity dispersion, absorption amplitude, gain bandwidth on the pulse characteristic was analyzed.This method simplified the calculation processing.
