THEORY STUDY OF NOLM DEMULTIPLEXING

Abstract:
From the comprehensive investigations on the general features of nonlinear optical loopmirror (NOLM), we find that the effect from chromatic dispersion and switching power of NOLM canbe reduced greatly through the reasonable selection of wavelength of birefringence fiber. The relationsof switching power and extinction ratio versus d and timing jitter of control pulse have been studied inthis paper. Our numerical results show that the NOLM extinction ratio is greatly degraded byincreasing d and timing jitter of control pulse.
