Ultrasound-guided Pingyangmycin injection for huge hepatic hemangioma
|
Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of Pingyangmycin injection with puncture for large and massive hepatic hemangioma guided by ultrasound. Methods A total of 219 patients suffered from large and massive hepatic hemangioma were diagnosed including a large group of 147 cases(diameter 7-10 cm) and a massive group of 72 cases(diameter ≥10 cm).Pingyangmycin was injected into the hemangioma from different spots and directions at different times under the guidance of ultrasound. The injection was performed once within a 5-7 days for interval and 6-8 times for a course of treatment. The total amount of Pingyangmycin was not beyond 112 mg.The effectiveness was evaluated after 3 months of injection by ultrasound and the terminal point of evaluation was 2 years after treatment. Results The tumor could not vanish during the treatment. The length of time after treatment is related to the decrease of tumors. After treatment,176(80.37%) cases of tumors vanished or a small nodule with 0.5-1.0 cm was found.Forty-three(19.63%) cases of tumors decreased by 75% with an efficacy rate of 100%.No severe complications of hepatic, renal functional impair and death were reported. There were 3 cases complicated with intraperitoneal hemorrhage. Conclusion The method of puncture with pingyangmycin injection guided by ultrasound for huge hepatic hemangioma are effective and acceptable by patients with less injury.
