CORRECTIVE PLATE WITH A GRADIBNT INDEX MEDIA IN THE CATADIOPTIRIC SYSTEM

Abstract:
In this paper is described a gradient index media plate. The media plate has some properties similar to the Schmidt aspherical corrective plate. In the cata-dioptiric system. Duncan T. Moore has studied a axial gradient index corrective plate and gave a better result. This plate, in fact, is a zero power plate with two spherical surfaces of different radius of curvature. But my plate is designed with a shallow radial gradient index media, and it is a plate with a parallel plane.?The spherical aberration of the gradient index corrector with parallel plane will eliminate the spherical aberration of the spherical primary mirror in the catadiop-tiric system. In this paper is analyzed the aberrational correction. In the conventional optical systems, this gradient index plate is used to provide the precorrec-tional quatity of the spherical aberration of the optical lens systems. The refractive index in such a media in the lens systems is given in the same way.
