ULTRASHORT LASER PULSE SOURCES
|
Abstract:
This paoer deals with the development of picos cond and femtosecond laser pulses, and introduced some of mode-locked lasers and group velocity dispersion compensation lasers, as well as light pulse amplification and compression technology. The experiments show that the light pulses for region of several hundred fs can be reliably produced with synchronous, passive/hybrid mode-locking technology or sub-100 fs pulses can be easy got with colliding pulse mode-locking (CPM) technology. It is noteworthy that CPM Rh6G laser operating in wavelength region around 630 nm has directly produced 19 fs pulses under such optimum conditions, which are saturable gain, saturable absorption, self-phase modulation and group velocity dispersion four mechanisms for pulse shaping and controlling dispersion in the intracavity.
