A new type of fiber optic sensor has been designed.it can be used for the non-contact:andquick measurement of surface roughness.Based on the principle of light scattering from rough surface,we utilized the time delay technique,which not only reduce the instrument error,but also lower its costin comparison with other fiber optical sensors of the same kind.
