DESIGN OF SPACE LIGHTWEIGHT POINTING MIRROR
|
Abstract:
The design of space-based large lightweight pointer substrates involves two problems,th first is the material and the other is the structure of lightweight pointer substrates. Consideringmaterial's rigidity-to-density ratio and thermal stability, this paper chooses SiC as primary material for pointer substrates, and FS as secondary material. The pointer substrates are constructed by two-plate connected by an array of hexagonal cells and consisting of a single material throughout. After a thorough discussion of the relationship between the deflection of mirror surface, the degree of weigh reduction and core thickness, faceplate thickness, cell diameter and rib thickness, this paper determines the configuration of pointer substrates. Finite element analysis (FEA ) demonstrates that thelightweight pointer substrate not only effectively reduces weight, but also maximally maintainsrigidity.
