CRITICIAL PITTING TEMPERATURE OF 22CR DUPLEX STAINLESS STEEL

Abstract:
Critical pitting temperature(CPT) means the lowest temperature at which the growth of stable pits is possible.The effect of Cl~-concentration on the CPT of 22Cr duplex stainless steel was investigated using potentiostatic and ptentiodynamic measurements.It follows that the results obtained by the two means were well in accordance.With the increasing of Cl~-concentration,CPT decreased.The pits are metastable when the temperature is below the CPT and stable only when the temperature is above the CPT.
