Abstract:
During a routine inspection of an engine for troubleshooting,damages of crack and spall off are observed on an quick-release ring in an afterburner diffuser.In order to investigate the damage mechanism and failure causes,macroscopic and microscopic observations of the fractured surfaces and microstructure investigation have been performed.The results show that the crack of the quick-release ring is due to stress corrosion induced by intergranular corrosion,and the spall off from the surface of quick-release...
