INFLUENCE OF HEAT TREATMENT ON CORROSION RESISTANCE OF 0Cr18Ni9Ti

Abstract:
The effect of heat treatment on pitting corrosion and intergranular corrosion of 0Cr18Ni9Ti was studied by oxalic acid electrolyte test combined with metallographie analysis and potentiodynamie polarization measurement. The results showed that solution treatment is helpful for pitting corrosion resistance. The specimens after stabilization treatment showed the best intergranular corrosion resistance, but the pitting corrosion resistance is poor. Meanwhile,the passivating films on the solution treated specimens showed a good stability by alternating current impedance test.
