CORROSION INHIBITION OF CRESOL RED FOR COLD ROLLED STEEL IN PHOSPHORIC ACID SOLUTION

Abstract:
The inhibition effect of cresol red on the corrosion of cold rolled steel(CRS)in 1.0 ~ 10.0 mol/L H3PO4 has been studied by weight loss method.The results show that cresol red is a good inhibitor in 1.0 mol/L H3PO4 for CRS,and the adsorption of cresol red on the CRS surface follows the Temkin adsorption isotherm equation.Inhibition efficiency increases with the increase of inhibitor concentration,while decreases with the increase of phosphoric acid concentration and temperature.The thermodynamic and kinetic...
