THE RESEARCH ON ADVANCED CERAMICS AND ITS PROSPECTS IN CHINA

In this paper, the progress and its prospect on advanced ceramics, containing structural ceramics and functional ceramics, was reviewed. Since 50's of this century, the studies of advanced ceramics was carrying on in China. The research work was emphasized to basic research, but also was paid attention to applying research. On this background the research trends, that are multiphase composed ceramics, nano-ceramics and ceramic materials tailoring and designing, were formed gradually.
