MICROANALYSIS ON THE STRENGTHENING MECHANISM OF ZINC BASE ALLOY PREPARED BY LIQUID METAL FORGING
|
Abstract:
The microstructure and phase constituents of ZA12 and ZA27 alloy prepared by casting and liquid metal forging process have been comparatively researched by means of SEM, TEM, XRD and energy spectrum analyses. The results show that the microstructure has been changed a lot by using the liquid metal forging process. The crystal grains of the tested alloys are fined and the dendritic interval is reduced. The copper content in the aluminium--rich phase has been increased and the effect of solution strengthening and dispersion strengthening on the structure is obvious. The fractograph is transformed from a brittle one into a tough one.
