PREPARATION AND PROPERTIES OF Al-Al_2O_3 -GLASS COMPOSITES
Al—Al2O3—玻璃复合材料的制备与性能

Al-Al2O3-glass composites were prepared by pressureless sintering. The hardness, flexural strength and wear behavior were measured. The results indicated that the better joint in grain boundary region between aluminium and alumina had been obtained by addition of a glass characterized with good wetting to both aluminium and alumina, which made the properties mentioned above improved considerably.Some effects of the glass as a interphase was also discussed by SEM analysis.
