RESISTANCE TO CO2 CORROSION OF ELECTROLESS PLATING OF Ni - P COATING ON STEEL N80

Abstract:
By means of electrochemical measurement and static high temperature and high pressure corrosion test,CO_2 corrosion behavior of N80 steel without and with Ni-P coating was investigated in terms of line polarization curve with Tafel extension and corrosion weight-loss.The results show that the resistance to CO_2 corrosion of Ni-P coated N80 steel is better than the bare N80 steel,and of the former the corrosion current density and corrosion rate are lower than that of the later sample.The results of the electrochemical experiment and autoclave measurement are consistent obviously,that is to say, the Ni-P coating possesses much better resistance to CO_2 corrosion than the bare sample.
