MICROSTRUCTURES OF A HIGH CARBON TOOL STEEL IN THE LASER-PROCESSED ZONE

Abstract:
T10 steel with a starting structure of ferrite and spheroidal cementite wasimployed to undergo laser processing.Microstructure in the laser-processed zone was in-vestigated by means of TEM.Both microcrystal and amorphous phases were found in thelaser-processed zone.The former was identified to be austenite mixing with the amorphousphase.The formation of the amorphous is attributable to the existence of the spheroidalcementite.
