PROGESS IN THE FUNDAMENTAL RESEARCH OF NANOTRIBOLOGY

Nanotribology, one of the new areas developed with the nano-science and technology, aims at the friction, wear and lubrication at the moleculor and / or atomic scale. In this paper, following illustrating the background of arising of nanotribology, the significance, progress and developing tendences in the fundamental research of nanotribology have been discussed.
