MICROYIELD DEFORMATION CHARACTERISTIC OF PARTICLE WITH SUBMICRON SCALE REINFORCED 6061 Al MATRIX COMPOSITE
|
Abstract:
In the present paper, microyield characteristic of a Al2O3p /6061 composite was investigated and its microstructure was observed by TEM and HREM. It indicated that the Al2O3p/6061 composite had high microyield stress and good microstructure stability comparing to unreinfOrced 6061 alloy. And the relationship between microyield stress and microplastic strain was in keeping with the linear rule proposed by Brown and Lukens. By studying on the microyield behaviors and microstructures of Al2O3p/6061. SiCp/6061 and AlNp/6061 composites, it was found that the microyield stress was directly efFected by geometry shape, size, distribution of the reinforcement and dislocation density, precipitate, subcrystalline grain size in the matrix and interfacial bonding condition between the reinforcement and the matrix, etc.. Particulate in submicron scaIe reinforced composites have reasonablemicrostructrues for improving dimensional stability property, and is ideal material choice for precise instruments in present.
