A NEW MODEL OF SPEEDY CONSTRAINED DIRECTIONAL GROWTH OF SUPERFINE CRYSTALS

In this paper, Warren-Langer's growth model of dendritic arrays has been modified in taking aCCount of Gibbs-Thomson effect and mathematical treatment. The modified warren-Langer's model (MWL) was examined at high growth rates, and was applied to a constrained directionally solidified transparent carbon-tetrabromide system at both low velocity and high velocity of near absolute stability limit. It is shown that the theoretical calculation using MWL model is in good consistance with the experiments.
