An overview of the recent progress in the grain boundarytheory has been presented,including the physical concepts of grain boundarymodel such as CSL,O-Lattice and DSC Lattice.Some experimental techniquesand their applications have been introduced and reviewed briefly.The currentdevelopments and prospects of grain boundary research have been summed up.
