Abstract:

Through measuring the thermal plastic deformation curve of polyethylene(PE),this paper determined the capillary extrusion temperature range of polyethylene,and measuredthe mechanical properties and heat shrinkage behavior of extruded raw fibres and low tempera-ture zone drawn fibres.Results show as follows.At lower pressure,the technique of capillaryextrusion has little effect on the mechanical properties of raw fibres.And zone drawing cangreatly enhances mechanical properties of raw fibres and results in self reinforcement,but heatshrinkage enlarges obviously.
