PREPARATION AND FLUORESCENCE PROPERTIES OF Sm-CONTINING COPOLYMERS

Sm-containing copolymers of methyl methacrylate and methacrylic acid wereprepared using samarium octanoateSm(OCA)_3]as additive and samarium methacrylateSm(MAA)_3]as crosslinking agent,respectively.The study on fluorescence properties of thecopolymers showed that there are linear relationships between fluorescence intensity and Smcontents of both two solids.Other results proved that copolymer crosslinked through samariummethacrylate is of better thermal stability,longer extension at break and stronger fluorescenceintensity at the same Sm contents than copolymer blended with Sm(OCA)_3.
