Abstract:

The purpose of this work is to study BaO-TiO2-SiO2 optical glass with suitable for pratical use free of rear earth oxide. By using calculating system of glass physics property,the glass composition were designed,and the composition range for forming suitable glass was discussed.This kind of glass with high refractive index(nd=1.70)low density (p=3.03)and suitable dispersion(v=35)has practical value.The comprehensive influences of glass composition on index of refractive and dispersion and density were discussed.The crystallization, decolorization and spetrum of glass were studied.It is believed that the existing of Al2O3 and MgO will increase the crystallization tendency of glass. The crystalline phases of glass were also studied. The possible coloration mechanism of this glass system has been postulated according to the experiment resaults.
