ATOMIC CONFIGURATIONS IN THE MARTENSITE AND BAINITE PHASES OF SOME ORDERED ALLOYS DETERMINED BY THE ALCHEMI MEASUREMENTS
|
Abstract:
The atomic configuration in the parent and martensite phases of Cu-Zn-Al alloys and in the parent, martensite and bainite phases of Cu-An-Zn alloys have been examined by the atom location by channelling enhanced microanalysis (ALCHEMI) method, although the parent phase of both the alloys has been known to be ordered into the DO3 or L(21) type. As a result, the atomic configuration in the martensite phase was clearly verified to be the same as that in the parent phase in both the alloys, but that in the aged martensite of Cu-Zn-Al alloys and the bainite of Cu-An-Zn alloys to not be the same. These results of the ALCHEMI measurements will be described in the present paper.
