ENAMEL COATING MANUFACTURED BY LASER IRRADIATION
|
Abstract:
Enamel coating was produced on steel substrates using continuous wave CO_2laser irradiation from the same raw material as used for the industrially used enamel coating. The formed coating fairly well joined to the substrate and had a bumpy glossy surface. It com-posed of Si,Al,Ca,Na,K,Co,Ni,Fe,B,F and O elements, however containing lessNa and K than the intial composition due to the observable evaporation when the raw materialinteracting with laser irradiation.Co and Ni enriched in the interfacial zone.Fe element hadbeen transfered into the coating, its content was high at near the interface and low at the maincoating body. The processing parameters, especially laser power, are identified very importantfor the formation of enamel coating.
