RAMAN SPECTRA AND CALCULATION OF BOND ENERGY OF MC CARBIDES IN Ni-BASE SUPERALLOY

Abstract:
Bonding characteristics of MC carbides in Ni-base superalloy hasbeen analyzed.The force constant and bond energy of MC carbides are calcu-lated with normal mode vibration according to the result of Raman spectra.Boththeoretical analysls and experimental results give the conclusion that the mainstructure-unit in the crystal lattice of MC carbide is nearest metal-carbon co-valent bond.A method of determining the value of m and n in Lennard-Jonespotention is proposed.
