THEORETICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL ANALYSES OF THERMAL BUCKLING PROBLEMS OF LINER SHELLS (II) -EXPERIMENTAL PART

Abstract:
In the present paper, the problem of the axisymmetric postbuckling response has been investigated for thin circular plates and delaminated circular films under the action of inplane compression. Especially, the problem of the asymmetric bifurcation buckling occuring at the stage of the axisymmetric postbuckling deformation has beed investigated for the first time.The regular solutions of the axisymmetric buckling and postbuckling equations are derived by the use of power series expansions, and the solutions of the equations for the second-time bifurcation buckling and postbuckling are obtained by using the Fourier series and the power series simultaneously.The delaminated circular film is treated as a thin circular plate clamped to the substrate along the boundary of the delaminated zone, and the energy release rates corresponding to the two stages of tile postbuckling deformation of the film are calculated.
