A Hybrid State Analysis Method to Non-Markov Stochastic Petri Net Models

Abstract:
This paper focuses on analysis of stochastic Petri net (SPN) models with arbitrarily distributed transition firing times. Concepts of hybrid states and hybrid statedensity functions are introduced, and a hybrid state analysis (HSA) method is de-veloped systematically. A recursive equation of hybrid state density functions is alsogiven. The HSA method makes analysis of non-Markovian SPNs possible. An exampleshows the application of this method to systems' performance evaluation.
