DESIGN REDUCED-ORDER CONTROLLERS FOR A CLASS OF CONTROL PROBLEMS

Abstract:
The problem to design reduced order controllers for a class of control problems is studied for linear time invariable plants based on LMI(linear matrix inequalities). A new upper bound of the order for reduced order controllers is proposed. The bound is applicable to both standard and singular control problems. Due to the constructive proof, an algorithm to construct the controller can be obtained. Finally, simple examples are given to show practicality and correctness of this approach.
