A New Approach to Sensor Fault Detection and Diagnostics of Nonlinear Systems

Based on a pseudo-separate-bias estimation algorithm and a modified Bayes's classification algorithm, a new approach to sensor fault detection and diagnostics of nonlinear systems is proposed. The proposed approach is used to design a sensor fault diagnostics system for a large real papermachine. Computer simulation results show that the proposed approach is much suitable for on-line detection and diagnostics of industrial sensors.
