A Development Tool of Diagnostic Expert System

This paper describes a tool for developing diagnostic expert systems. This system can perform some functions including knowledge acquisition, the consistency test and the diagnostic inference. It is characterized by using constants, variables and functions to describe domain knowledge, and by integrating the symbolic inference with numerical calculation. It is implemented with Microsoft C5.0 language of the IBM microcomputer.
