Theory of Variable Structure Control of Time-lag Systems and its Application to the Stabilization of Combustion in Rocket Engines

Abstract:
In this paper, the problem of variable structure control of time-lag systems and its. application is studied. In the first part, the concept of switching functional is introduced and hence a systematic design method is established for the variable structure control of general time-delay systems. Furthermore, the solutions of the socalled characteristic matrix equation for retarded systems are given under general conditions.
