DESCRIBING-FUNCTION METHOD FOR THE STUDY OF SINGLE LOOP CONTROL SYSTEMS CONTAINING SEVERAL NONLINEARITIES

Abstract:
The single-loop control systems containing several nonlinearities are studied by describing-function method. A method is proposed by which the entire system can be divided into simple sections each of which contains but one nonlinearity. Then the selfsustained oscillation and its stability are studied for the case when the nonlinearities are single-valued and symmetric. Finally, systems with forced oscillations are also analysed.
