Immunohistochemical study of the development of P cells in the proventriculus of shao ducks
绍鸭腺胃蛙皮素细胞生长发育的免疫组织化学观测

Immunohistochemical method (ABC method) was employed to demonstrate the postnatal development of bombesin cells (P cells) in proventriculus of Shao duck by observing its character and counting its number in every stage. The results presented that the P cells were mainly oval and polygonal, and some with short cytoplasmic processes. Most of P cells disperse in the central area of gastric glands and only a few located in the epithelial surface of lumen. The P cells' growth peak of gastric gland appeared during 0 6 weeks, and the epithelial did during 0 10 weeks. Following the growth peak, both gastric P cells and epithelial decreased quickly. The results also showed that the gastric P cells were remarkably more than the epithelial. This paper presented the postnatal development of the gastric P cells in Shao ducks. It also provided basic data for studying the dynamic change of the gastroenteropancreatic endocrine system.
