Relationship of plant hormones and polyamine with sex reversion of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.)
|
Abstract:
Sex reversion of gynoecious or androecious cucumber occurred at certain nodes when cucumber seedling was treated with silver nitrate or ethrel . The contents of endogenous gibberenllin (GA 3), putrescine (Put) and soluble protein (SP) increased but auxin (IAA) ,cytochrome (ZT) and spermidine (Spd) decreased at the apices of gynoecious seedling during sex reversion from female to male. On the contrary , the contents of GA3 ,Put and SP decreased but IAA ,ZT and Spd increased at the apices of androecious cucumber seedling during reversion from male to female . However, abscisic acid ,spermine and cadavarine appeared a ruleless alteration during sex reversion of cucumber.
